Max Christie
Max Christie hits four three-pointers, scores 15
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 5:46 PM
Max Christie accumulated 15 points (5-of-13 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), six rebounds, three assists, two steals, two blocks and four three-pointers in Friday's win over the Nets.
Analysis: After scoring just six points in his first game back on the bench on December 6, Christie got back on track Friday night. He's reached double figures in three of his last four outings, with the 15 points being the most in a game for Christie since November 24. While Naji Marshall (17/1/4/1 with one three-pointer) appears to be locked into the starting lineup, Christie is still capable of providing value. Managers in deep leagues who held onto him were rewarded for their faith (or forgetting to drop Max) on Friday.
P.J. Washington
P.J. Washington finishes with 13 points, full line
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 5:45 PM
P.J. Washington accounted for 13 points (4-of-10 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs), four rebounds, two assists, one steal, two blocks and one three-pointer in Friday's win over the Nets.
Analysis: While other Mavericks were more impactful as scorers, Washington recorded a complete stat line in Friday's victory. And with Dereck Lively II (foot) done for the season, he stands to receive even more opportunities to provide solid fantasy value. Providing close to top-50 value over the past two weeks, Washington is now a top-100 player for the season. Rostered in 46 percent of Yahoo! leagues, P.J. is worth grabbing in 12-team leagues due to the opportunity that's in front of him.
Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis records 24/14/3/3/3 line vs. Nets
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 5:44 PM
Anthony Davis finished Friday's win over the Nets with 24 points (10-of-21 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), 14 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocked shots.
Analysis: After a subpar first half in which he tallied four points, three rebounds and three assists, Davis flipped the switch. The Mavericks forward/center accounted for 20 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots in the second half, and the final stat line may lead some to believe that Davis was steady throughout. With Dereck Lively II done for the season and Daniel Gafford limited by an ankle injury, Davis will have to serve as the Mavericks' anchor in the middle. And when he's up for it, the veteran post is still one of the best in the NBA. Dallas does not play again until Monday against the Jazz.
D'Angelo Russell
D'Angelo Russell (illness) downgraded to out
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 12:53 PM
Grant Afseth
D'Angelo Russell (illness) is out for Friday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: Added to the Mavericks' injury report on Friday afternoon, Russell will not be available for the matchup with the Nets. His absence does not change much from a fantasy standpoint, as Ryan Nembhard and Brandon Williams were ahead of D'Lo in the pecking order.
Daniel Gafford
Daniel Gafford (ankle) downgraded to out Friday
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 12:51 PM
Grant Afseth
Daniel Gafford (ankle) is out for Friday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: Gafford will miss a third straight game with a lingering right ankle injury. The absence of him and Dereck Lively II means that Dwight Powell will be part of the rotation, serving mainly as Anthony Davis' backup. There's no need to consider adding Powell with a healthy AD in the fold.
D'Angelo Russell
D'Angelo Russell (illness) questionable Friday
Fri, Dec 12, 2025, 7:45 AM
NBA Injury Report
D'Angelo Russell (illness) is questionable for Friday's matchup with the Nets.
Analysis: D'Lo is a late addition to the injury report, which doesn't bode well for his chances of taking the court on Friday. He has averaged just 15.5 minutes across his last four outings, and if he is unable to go, Ryan Nembhard and Brandon Williams would presumably absorb his vacated minutes.
Klay Thompson
Klay Thompson (knee) absent from injury report
Thu, Dec 11, 2025, 12:42 PM
NBA Injury Report
Klay Thompson (knee) is not on the injury report for Friday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: Thompson is available after sitting out Saturday's win over the Rockets with a sore knee. His return likely means fewer minutes for D'Angelo Russell and Jaden Hardy, with the latter possibly falling out of the rotation entirely. Thompson is mainly an option for deep-league managers needing three-pointers.
Daniel Gafford
Daniel Gafford (ankle) doubtful Friday vs. BKN
Thu, Dec 11, 2025, 12:39 PM
NBA Injury Report
Daniel Gafford (ankle) is doubtful for Friday's game against the Nets.
Analysis: Gafford has missed two straight and four of Dallas's last five games as his right ankle continues to be an issue. With Dereck Lively II (foot) done for the season, the Mavericks will continue to start Anthony Davis at the center position. Dwight Powell will pick up rotation minutes off the bench if Gafford remains out.
Dereck Lively
Lively set to undergo season-ending foot srugery
Wed, Dec 10, 2025, 6:05 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports Dereck Lively II will undergo season-ending surgery on his right foot.
Analysis: Lively was reportedly seeking other opinions last week, which is never a positive sign. He's expected to make a full recovery, but after appearing in just seven games, his third year in the NBA will end up as a lost one. Anthony Davis will be asked to spend more time at center, especially when Daniel Gafford isn't available. There will also be extra minutes for Moussa Cisse and Dwight Powell, though only as depth pieces. Lively will only be 22 years old at the start of next season and will be an enticing option in fantasy hoops. However, he can be safely dropped in redraft leagues at this point.
Brandon Williams
Brandon Williams contributes 20 points vs. Houston
Sat, Dec 6, 2025, 6:19 PM
Brandon Williams accounted for 20 points (8-of-12 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), one rebound, five assists, two steals and one three-pointer in Saturday's win over the Rockets.
Analysis: In the five games he played after being moved out of the starting lineup, Williams averaged 8.6 points while shooting 32.6 percent from the field. He had no such issues on Saturday, with the 20 points the most the Mavericks guard has scored in a game since October 29. Saturday's performance won't be enough to get Williams back on the radar in most fantasy leagues, as Ryan Nembhard continues to start. But he is worth keeping an eye on, as Williams appears to be locked into the backup role ahead of D'Angelo Russell.
P.J. Washington
P.J. Washington (ankle) posts five steals Saturday
Sat, Dec 6, 2025, 6:18 PM
P.J. Washington (ankle) accumulated 14 points (6-of-13 FGs), seven rebounds, one assist, five steals, one block and two three-pointers in Saturday's win over the Rockets.
Analysis: Back in the lineup after a four-game absence, Washington recorded one of his best all-around lines of the season. While the scoring was modest, he did a good job on the glass and matched his career-high with five steals. However, this was Washington's second game this season with more than two steals, so fantasy managers should not expect Saturday's performance to become the norm. And Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd's decision to stick with Naji Marshall (15/2/2/1 with one three-pointer) was good news for those who turned to him while Washington was out.
Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis scores game-high 29 points vs. HOU
Sat, Dec 6, 2025, 6:18 PM
Anthony Davis amassed 29 points (14-of-19 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and one blocked shot in Saturday's win over the Rockets.
Analysis: Davis finished Saturday's game with a stat line on par with what many have expected of him, but injuries have been a disappointing issue for him. However, he did play both games of this Friday/Saturday back-to-back, which is immense, given Davis' struggles to stay healthy. Dallas only plays once during Week 8, which will give Davis and his teammates some time to get healthier.
P.J. Washington
DAL starts Nembhard, Flagg, P.J., Marshall, Davis
Sat, Dec 6, 2025, 2:07 PM
NBA Lineups
Ryan Nembhard, Cooper Flagg, Naji Marshall, P.J. Washington and Anthony Davis will start Saturday's game against the Rockets.
Analysis: Washington is back after a four-game absence, but his presence in the starting lineup does not come at Marshall's expense. Instead, it will be Max Christie who heads to the bench after starting 21 consecutive games. While he will remain in the rotation, Christie's already-low fantasy ceiling takes a hit with the change.
P.J. Washington
P.J. Washington (ankle) available Saturday vs. HOU
Sat, Dec 6, 2025, 1:33 PM
Dallas Mavericks
P.J. Washington (ankle) is available for Saturday's game against the Rockets.
Analysis: Washington is available after a four-game absence with a sprained right ankle. If he starts, Naji Marshall will be pushed to the bench, where his fantasy value takes a slight hit. That said, Marshall should still play plenty due to injuries to other Mavericks players.
Daniel Gafford
Daniel Gafford (ankle) out Saturday vs. Houston
Sat, Dec 6, 2025, 1:00 PM
Grant Afseth
Daniel Gafford (ankle) is out for Saturday's game against the Rockets.
Analysis: Gafford was initially doubtful for Saturday night, so the downgrade in status was expected. Anthony Davis will once again handle most of the available minutes at the center position, with Dwight Powell serving as his primary backup.
Klay Thompson
Klay Thompson (knee) out Saturday vs. Houston
Sat, Dec 6, 2025, 12:57 PM
Grant Afseth
Klay Thompson (knee) is out for Saturday's game against the Rockets.
Analysis: While Thompson's production has improved recently, he has primarily been a deep-league option for those needing three-pointers. His absence will likely result in more minutes for Jaden Hardy, who can be a bit of a wild card offensively. Feel free to leave him on the waiver wire.
P.J. Washington
P.J. Washington (ankle) questionable Saturday
Sat, Dec 6, 2025, 8:45 AM
P.J. Washington (ankle) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Rockets.
Analysis: Washington has missed the last four games with a right ankle sprain. His status is up in the air for Saturday against the Rockets given his questionable listing. Naji Marshall would fill in again if Washington is ruled out and is worth rostering in deep leagues while Washington is sidelined.
Daniel Gafford
Daniel Gafford (ankle) doubtful Saturday vs. HOU
Sat, Dec 6, 2025, 8:43 AM
Daniel Gafford (ankle) is doubtful for Saturday's game against the Rockets.
Analysis: Gafford injured his ankle against the Heat on Wednesday and subsequently missed Friday's game against the Thunder. He's unlikely to return Saturday given his doubtful listing. Anthony Davis is off the injury report, though, and should handle the majority of the center minutes for Dallas.
Jaden Hardy
Jaden Hardy scores 23, hits five threes off bench
Fri, Dec 5, 2025, 6:39 PM
Jaden Hardy had 23 points (8-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), two rebounds, two assists, and five three-pointers on Friday in the loss to the Thunder.
Analysis: Hardy came off the bench and notched his best scoring performance of the season. All of his production came in the second half once the score was lopsided and in favor of the Thunder. Still, he shot well in his 20 minutes of game action, particularly from beyond the arc, and finished as the Mavericks' leading scorer on the evening. Regardless of Hardy's strong outing on Friday, he's not a player fantasy managers should be keeping tabs on at the moment.
Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis held to two points Friday vs. OKC
Fri, Dec 5, 2025, 6:28 PM
Anthony Davis finished the loss to the Thunder with two points (1-of-9 FGs, 0-of-2 FTs), eight rebounds, six assists and one block.
Analysis: Davis had his worst performance of the season on Friday. In 24 minutes, he tallied more assists than he did points, and contributed just one made shot on the evening before finishing as the only Mavericks starter to score in single digits. His lone impact from a fantasy basketball standpoint came as a facilitator, where he notched a season-high in assists. It was otherwise a performance the veteran center will hope to quickly move on from. He'll have a chance to bounce back against the Rockets on Saturday, should he be available to play.
